(Selections) Whittier, California. Hometown of Richard Nixon and 'Billy Jack'.

As kids, we rode bicycles and play acted the film 'Billy Jack' in a town segregated between the well-off descendants of fruit farmers, and the Mexican and Indigenous working-class and working poor-- our town could, itself have been the location for the film's strange take on counter-culture.

Everything was chaos at Uncle Jerry's.
