These images reinterpret the photo albums of the Alice Salomon School of Social work, circa,1929. They insert Heide Gobbin into the groups and conversations shown in this fascinating photo album--This reinterpretation remains historically accurate as she was present for much of the conversations and methodological innovations circulating through women’s groups and the women’s movement-- the groups shown here were her community as evidenced by her quotes in the album. The only thing I cannot be sure about is where Heide stood in these debates, although she was located in the center of their historic introduction to Germany. We can ask ourselves now, as we should have asked then, is neutrality collaboration?
